Files are on the computer in a folder, having been downloaded from the card to the folder. This is the way I have been doing it for years, never had a problem like this with thousands of files and importing into LR.

First time digitally scanning film negatives (had been using Epson 850 flatbed). I scanned my Portra color negs using my Nikon Z7. I shot both jpegs and NEF (raw). When I tried importing the files into Lightroom (latest Mac OS and latest LR), I see the images in the import window, but they are grayed out and the Import button is similarly not available. I have had no problems with importing Z7 "regular" originals into LR. The files are appropriately .jpg and .NEF tagged, and the Mac file system lists them as the proper "Kind". I tried opening the jpegs in Photoshop and saving them as jpegs. This seems to make LR happy, and I can import them (though this must be individually done for every jpeg). I can then invert with NLP plugin. This, though, is a clumsy and time consuming process. The NEFs are another issue, since there is no option in PS to save as NEFs, I'd have to go with TiFFs. I tried contacting Adobe, but the wait time for Chat and phone is over an hour, and who knows if I would ever get in touch with anyone who understands this somewhat "unusual" issue. I have verified that the files are the appropriate file type using Get Info. I can also open them in Photoshop (as noted above), and in Nikon's own raw converter. But LR is a no-go for some reason. Attached is what I get when I try Syncing the folder in LR- it see the files but they won't import. Has anyone run into a similar problem, and hopefully resolved it?

Needs the ability to manage the sorting of presets the same way the Finder does: sort by name and location in folders as in the computer's O.S. Users should be able to arrange presets the way they want, not some mysterious arbitrary way. Make the process useful for the user/customer. The current arrangement is ridiculous. Put the presets in the file folders and sort you want in the Finder, have LR put the presets in the Develop Module in that same order.

I still have commercial LR Classic develop lrtemplate presets which have not been converted to xmp. They have been in my Catalog (where I keep the presets) since before 7.3 came out. I am using the latest LR and Mac OS on an iMac. The files are in the Settings folder, but all the files in that folder will not convert. When I try to import them into the Develop module by using the "+" procedure, I am told the files cannot be converted. Deleting the folder, then restarting LR, then quitting and adding the folder back does not cause LR to convert them when LR reopens. Can you please advise what is going on?

Since this seems to happen somewhere between 30-60 minutes into a session, hard to give a click-by-click sequence. Basically, select the adjustment brush tool, set the parameters, adjust brush size or move cursor over image to adjust brush size. So since I don't keep- track of each session, hard to say what the lead-up has been. Using an Apple external bluetooth trackpad and bluetooth keyboard. Never a problem until recently.

I am using latest LR Classic CC on an iMac with latest OS. After using the program for a while the left/right bracket keys no longer work to change the brush size, and the slider for size adjustment in the panel no longer shows the size as you slide it. The size slider keeps resetting itself to the very left-hand side of slider line after you move it to the right. When you start painting, the brush shows up as you paint, but no way to know what size it will be or to change it via the bracket or the panel. When you move the Size slider in the panel, the cursor (which should remain a cursor as you slide the control) changes into what I'd describe as a vertical line with a minus sign on the left and a plus sign on the right. If I quit LR and restart it, the brush works again for a while, until it doesn't. Any thoughts on what's going on?

Cannot get CS6 to install update from 13.0 on my Macmini Server (10.8.2)- error U44M2P7. Didn't do it in 10.7.5 either. Running the Check for Update in CS6 on the Macmini says I am running most current software (i.e., 13.0 64-bit) Tried downloading 13.0.3 from Adobe directly, that went almost to completion, but then again gave error U44M2P7. Had talked to Adobe rep when 130.1. popped up on my MBP but not on Macmini- he told me "well, if you're told nothing new, there is nothing new". Baloney, but no point in arguing with someone who know even less than you. Now I see there is a 13.0.3, which is downloaded and running fine on my MBP (20.7.5). Why is this all so painful? I NEVER have issues with other vendors' install, just Adobe and the flaky Download Manager interface. If this doesn't get resolved, this is the last Photoshop upgrade I buy. There are alternatives for what I now use it for.

Chris, not sure how to tell if "case sensitive", but I did try the following: saved something as "mail", then tried saving it as "Mail"- got message saying there was already such a file, did I want to replace. So if that's what you were looking for, I guess it is case sensitive. Running OS 10.6.8 currently. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rick

I cannot find how/where to access CUPS etc., despite searching via google. I am running CS5, but ACPU is a standalone workaround for CS5 as I understand it. I just want to print the target with no color management, and am not a programmer. Seems like it ought not to be this complex, considering CS5 is supposedly designed for photograph printing (as well as other uses). Printing with No Color Management used to be an option- many photographic printers use custom profiles; this is supposedly a professional program (@ $600 or whatever)- why is it like pulling teeth? In system prefs, I opened the Print Queue, and sometimes you see the job show up on the queue (1 of 1), other times it never makes it there. Nothing ever gets beyond that point, whether or not it shows up. I have the latest driver, which I just installed on this new 3880. I had spoken with Epson first, and they said all is fine as far as they can tell, given I can print anything else I want. They suggest if one program out of many won't print, the likely source of the issue is that one program. So I sent the test pattern file for the profile to my laser printer, and what "printed" was a blank page, just as what you get with using the Preview (print) button. If someone can give me more info on where to look, I'd be happy to do so. Thanks

I am using Max OS 10.6.6 with an Epson 3880, trying to print a profile target. After installing the ACPU, I open the target, set parameters, hit the Print button, the Epson window opens showing the ink levels in the cartridges, and then nothing happens at the printer. There is no evidence of a job having been sent to the printer when looking at the 3880 log. The computer-printer connection is fine, as I printed a page from the Adobe website while agonizing over this. It would appear there is a some kind of bug in the ACPU. So there seems to be no way to create the profile target print for use in Photoshop.

I tried uninstalling, and it apparently did so (I had 1.5 or something like that installed). There was an app for Uninstall. But I still cannot get the dog-gone new version to install. Why did the new version offer to update the older version, and then fail to do so or go to completion? Why should I have to uninstall it manually when there was no dialogue to that effect? I tried the text in Terminal, but no such folder exists. So I no longer have Air installed for the applications which require it, and I cannot get a new version to install. I click on the Adobe AIR Installer icon, it apparently starts - it shows up in the Dock. But nothing, nada, beyond that.
